Author Watty Piper is an invention of publishing company Platt & Munk and the actual author of Children Of Other Lands as far as I know remains anonymous to this day. The illustrator, Holling Clancy Holling, was however a very prolific and well known artist of his time and his work in this volume is nothing less than outstanding in context and well as being so colorful. Every one of the five brilliant illustrations will capture you or your child's imagination, and from what I can see, the stories in this book remain as relevant today as they ever were. The condition is good to very good and the book is free of any torn pages or folded corners. The spine and hinges also remain in good solid undamaged condition and it is marked with the publishers number 100A on the front cover. The wear to the corners is what you might expect from a book that was enjoyed but not abused. The original owner, back in 1934, put her name and address on the inside front as seen in two photos. The only other marks in the book are sort of interesting in themselves in that she also added the page numbers to the index AND numbered the pages which were originally un-numbered. This is part of the history of this particular volume and I don't personally consider it to be damage as such. This also came from the estate of the original owner. I'll let my photos do the rest of the talking.
