WWII GABY Photo Post Card of Military Cemetery at St. Laurent sur Mer
I'm not sure of the exact year this post card was available, but it is very likely pre 1950. It is a French card featuring the Military Cemetery at St. Laurent sur Mer which holds the remains of allied soldiers who lost their lives in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. It did at one time hold remains of both French and American soldiers as well as other allied countries, but I believe in the later forties most if not all of the Americans were brought home. You do see, among the countries represented by their flags at this event, a US flag. On the reverse, the card is marked Number 2 of a seres, as well as marked by the publisher, ARTAUD Pere & Fils, of Nantes, France. It is also marked Editions GABY Marquee Deposee and you see the GABY name on the front, lower right as well. The card is 100% free of any holes, bends, creases, or tears. It is unused and quite clean front and back. The card measures 3 5/8 inches by 5 5/8 inches.
