Hawaii and South Seas Curio Company, which later became simply the Island Curio Company, was started by James Steiner in the 1890's and published cards into the late 1930's. This card, numbered 204 on the reverse, is of the "Volcano House, Hawaii." In the scene we see several gentlemen on the lawn of the beautiful Volcano House hotel with a bit of the Pacific Ocean visible on the horizon. The hotel also offers great views of the Kilauea caldera crater. Just this year, it has undergone a $3.5M renovation, returning the hotel to it's original glory to be enjoyed for many more years. The card is in Excellent, dare I say mint, condition. It is truly, I'm sure, as close to new condition as any you may find as it remained unseen in an album for much of it's life. There are simply no flaws to describe. On the back, I quote from the description..... "A splendid automobile road goes to the brink of the crater."
Thank you for taking the time to stop and look us over.
