McCoy Pottery swan planter in pink. This planter was first produced in 1948 and we can determine that this is not a newer piece by the fact that it is marked only McCoy on the bottom. Later pieces are marked McCoy USA. The planter is listed in the McCoy catalog as nine inches. This one, although there are no chips or repairs, there is a hairline coming down from the lip about half an inch on the outside and about the same on the inside. There is no chipping along the edges. The vase does have some factory issues. There are glaze pops found on the back (opposite the swan's head)around the area in the middle, and at/near the rim on one side. There is also, around the foot, thin glaze and for most of the distance around, the glaze does not flow all the way to the bottom. The footprint is roughly 3 3/4 by 4 3/4 inches. You be the judge as to condition, I've tried to conceal nothing, but it's still a very cool display piece for everyday retro decor.
