McCoy Pottery Bean Pot, Ca. 1940, with it's lid, and decorated with beans, what a cool piece. This has set on our dining room table long enough and it's time to let it go. Most bean pots you find seem to be the later undecorated ones, but this one is a beauty with the pods among the leaves and all backed by a trellis. It's a single handled pot, with it's original lid. The jar is completely free of any chips or cracks and I see no repairs. THe lid has a few chips along it's inner edge that could be due to use or may have been there all along. It's difficult to say, but there are no cracks associated with any of them. The jar is very clean inside and out and is clearly marked on the bottom by McCoy. This is considered a 2 quart pot in a 6 1/2 inch size, in the brown gloss color. It dates to the 1940's and is in remarkable condition. There is very fine crazing on the outside (you have to look for it) but there is none visible on the inside of the pot. The lid if free of any crazing.
Thank you for checking out this better than average piece of vintage McCoy Pottery.
