Theo. Sohmer post card of "Electric Tram Car, Venice, California," published by Western Pubishing & Novelty Co. of Los Angeles. It looks like we have some passengers ready to enjoy an outing in Venice, and note the Auction House in the background. This tram car is a piece of history and here you can see one in fairly great detail, right down to the apparently woven apron to hide the works underneath. The conductor at the controls looks ready for another drive and the fellow on the far side facing the camera could pass as a model for a later Brando. What a story the folks on this tram could tell us of their experieince, I'm sure. The card is free of any pinholes, there are no tears or stains and edge wear is nil. There is a "normal" amount of corner blunting. Both lower corners may appear in the picture to have creases, but the slightly dark lines are from corner frames in an album. Published in Los Angeles by Western Publishing & Novelty Co. and numbered 856.
Thank you for coming by.
