The original steel line engraving by C.T. Dixon, titled Trim, is set in County Cork and was after H. Gastineau. I do not know the age of this example, but it is in nice condition, only having a trace of a crease in the far lower right corner. The main subject is Castle Trim in County Cork. The paper is of a heavier type which is in very good condition with no visible foxing and no stains or tears. The frame is of wood and is nice and solid, with a couple easily touched up scrapes (I see what appears to be pine under the paint). It has an attached stand but no means of hanging. The frame measures 9 3/4 by 11 3/4 inches on the outside and 7 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches on the inside. It is 7/8 of an inch deep. My photos show the engraving as the eye sees it, black and white. However, with the photos digitally corrected, traces of color can be seen clearly and appear to be correct. It is possible that the print is hand colored as many are but has faded significantly.
Thank you for your time.
