Lionel Lines Lionel Jr. 1700 With Cars 617 and 618

The Lionel Lines Lionel Jr. 1700 with the cars seen here dates to the years 1935 through 1937. The locomotive is the Model 1700 Diesel Streamline and it does show considerable signs of play, but aside from the wrinkles to the bottom of the steel nose piece it is free of any other dents or damage. I have applied power to the engine, however, it only hums and does not move. The light socket is present, however, there is no bulb and I do not see a mounting bracket to hold the socket in place if there was one originally. Car 616, the coach immediately behind the engine, is only missing one of the bearing caps on the front truck. Other wise, it is also in played with condition, having some surface rust and paint loss, but no dents and nothing broken. The observation car, 618, is in played with condition, also with surface rust and some paint loss but no broken or missing parts. An easy train for restoration....I have lightly cleaned it only on the surface with a damp rag and soft nylon brush. The cars were quite dirty and dusty when found. I do have additional photos and can provide specific ones upon request.

Thank you.
