CORO PIN-Famous Grape Design-Green Moonglow Cabochons-Vintners Vintage

Moonglow cabochons are stunning because they are made from lucite which lets light come through creating a bright inner glow. They come in a wonderful range of colors. This well known pin by Coro has eight 8mm dreamy green colored cabs that create a cluster of grapes ripening on a dainty vine with faux paves. There is a fur clip with a similar motif which has a bow instead of a vine.

Costume jewelry companies began using lucite in their pieces in the early 1940's to great success. You may be familiar with the very famous Trifari series called Jelly Bellies which were sterling and lucite. This is rhodium plated on metal and in excellent condition measuring 2 inches X 1 3/4 at it's widest angles.

Gene Verrecchio designed and patented this series for Coro in 1941. The most famous are the Cockatoo, Mallard and now super rare Paradise Fish. This diminutive pin is very elegant and perfect for celebrating. Enjoy!
