Inspired by a glorious moon rise on a balmy summer eve, I really enjoyed conjuring up this familiar scene here in New England. There are so many colors in night scenes and blacks are a culmination of all other colors. The moon light is so bright on the dark waves breaking on the shore with a spot up high in the dunes to perch and enjoy the show. Sometimes on nights like this surfers actually go out into the ocean looking very "alien" in their wet suits. Stars are peaking through the clouds that break open near the top showing just how magnificent the night sky can be.
This is painted on a 12 x 16 archival canvas panel and presented in a solid wooden frame of rich, dark brown/black with a bronze accent and is ready for hanging.
Formerly a professional photographer and communications director, L. Warner has devoted the past decade to studying oil painting with many highly respected artist instructors from coast to coast. Now, a full time oil painter specializing in landscapes, my artwork has been represented in galleries in Wisconsin, Utah, Washington, Rhode Island and Massachusetts with paintings in many private collections. As a contemporary realist with an impressionistic flair, I strive to capture fleeting moments inspired by Mother Nature.
