WHITING & DAVIS Bracelet-The Colored Stone Collection-Circa 1976-77

This outstanding hinged bracelet by Whiting & Davis is so fancy in it's metal work design! The entire gold-tone bracelet is covered with layers of intricate designs all supporting a large centered bezel set stone that looks like agate. It is vivid deep purple with a couple of slashes of milky white all set in a beautiful border of more fancy metal work.

Similar bracelets are shown in the book called Collecting Costume Jewelry 303 on pages 320-332 which talks about this company's catalog showing almost identical items. Whiting & Davis stopped making jewelry in the 1980's so this is a very special bracelet especially since it is New /Old inventory still sporting its original hangtag.

As I have been typing this, it sits calmly on my left wrist not flopping to the side because of the way they engineered the bangle bracelet. It does have a safety chain and closes with a snug push. This is in excellent condition with an inner diameter that measures 2 1/8 inches. The faux agate measures a full inch long. Enjoy!
