French Art Deco Figural Bookends, WWI Military Swashbuckling Swordsman on Marble
Very unique figural bookends of a WWI French swordsman fashioned in gilded speltre on a marble base. His face and flesh beneath his torn pants are made of ivorine and are very detailed! 8" tall by 3 1/2" wide by 4" deep. The very tips of the swords are missing and there is some light chipping to the marble. Marked to the marble bases 'Made in France'. Dates to the early to mid 1920s.
