Retro Compact Purse Mother of Pearl

This is a great old 1950s compact purse. There is no indication at to the maker. It is made of brass and then both sides of the rectangular compact are covered with Mother of Pearl in a woven sort of marquetry design. The mother of pearl is a different color going one direction than the other. Very pretty! The inside has a mirror, of course, a hollow tube to house your tube of lipstick, a secret compartment, a place that lifts to reveal powder and a little felt compartment that once held a small comb. It measures 5 1/4" by 3" by 7/8". The lovely item is in very nice condition with no missing pieces of mother of pearl. The clasp works great and the chain handle is in great condition and is still attached properly at both sides. There are two corners that have a small piece of the shell chipped off.
