Barn Raising Log Cabin Quilt – Mid to Late 1800's
This exquisite antique quilt is of a pattern that was extremely popular around the Civil War as quilts were made and sold to earn money for the troops. The pattern is simple yet elegant stating with a square representing the home hearth in the center with strips of fabric or "logs" (reminiscent of the Abraham Lincoln era) with darker colors arranged on one half and lighter the other half of the square.
This handsome antique handmade Log Cabin quilt is a generous 78 inches by 88 inches, a size easily fitting a full size/ double bed and is even big enough to fit a queen size. This terrific piece is in excellent handmade condition, weighs 3 pounds 13.6 ounces and is ready to add a touch of charm to your home's décor.
