Early American Pattern Glass Toothpick Holder – “Three Monkeys on a Stump” Pattern – Circa: Late 1880’s

This is an absolutely wonderful example of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) in the Monkey pattern depicting a monkey clinging to the tree trunk shape of the toothpick holder on one side and a pair of monkeys deep in discussion on the other. This exquisite toothpick holder is fashioned in intricate detail of the monkey's tree top home complete with the roughness of the bark spots for the limb locations.

This gorgeous little toothpick holder was made by the United States Glass Company in the late 1880's, is in mint condition with no chip, cracks or repairs and the glass is of superb quality and is perfectly clear. This charming little piece weighs 4 ounces, is 2 ½ inches tall, 1-¾ inches in diameter at the mouth and 2 ¼ inches at the base.
