Japanese Bowl Styled After Chinese K’ang Hsi Period Porcelain – Circa: 1900 -1920

This is a spectacular Japanese porcelain bowl styled after the Chinese K'ang Hsi period porcelains made from 1662 – 1722 and this particular bowl was made in Japan somewhere between 1900 and 1922 most likely for export. This exquisite bowl is decorated with eye catching floral arrangements in vivid green, red, blue and white colors, imaginatively conceived and lavishly painted against a stunning yellow background. The sides of the bowl are also richly decorated with flowers and designs against creamy white porcelain.

This astonishing Japanese porcelain bowl weighs 2 pounds 8.2 ounces, is 9 ½ inches in diameter, 3 ½ inches tall and the footed base is 4 ½ inches in diameter. This lovely piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Just picture this dramatic bowl gracing your sideboard or dining table!
