Pair of Hand Blown Glass Decanters – Late 1800’s Early 1900’s

This is an elegant and sophisticate pair of hand blown glass decanters each with a polished pontil, original stoppers and ground glass friction fit at the neck. One of the stoppers is in good condition with some expected chipping along the bottom edge of the stopper but this does not affect the appearance or the fit. The other stopper is in very good to excellent condition with only a few tiny fleabites along the base and bulb top of the stopper. The flask portion of the decanters are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and only expected wear marks on the base from age and use. Each of these wonderful decanters holds about 750 ml of liquid, equivalent to about a fifth of spirits.

This beautiful pair of decanters are identical in pattern and one is slightly larger than the other. The larger weighs 2 pound 6.8 ounces, is 12 ½ inches tall to the top of the stopper with a waist circumference of 14 inches and the base diameter of 3 ½ inches. The smallest of this lovely pair weighs 1 pound 13.2 ounces, is 12 inches to the top of the stopper and all the other dimensions are the same as above.
