French .950 Silver Tasting Spoon - 1930's

This is a Lovely French Silver Tasting Spoon from the 1930's in very good condition with only age-appropriate wear. The bowl of the spoon is oblong and tapers at the end for better ease in pouring or sipping the contents. The spoon has a raised stem, which adds to the simple elegance of the piece.

The Minerva hallmark with headdress and the number 1 next to the forehead is found on the inside of the spoon's bowl and indicates a silver purity of .950, a higher purity than sterling silver that is .925. To its left is the maker's mark. The spoon's bowl measures 2 x 1 ¼ inches. The spoon is just over 4 ½ inches in length and weighs 1.2 ounces.

This piece would be a wonderful addition to your collection.
