Loetz or Loetz Type Ribbed and Threaded Green Glass Syrup Jug with Pewter Handle and Hinged Lid – Circa: Early 1900's

This is a fabulous; eye catching, demure syrup or molasses jug in green with thread glass dragged over a ribbed surface. The handles and lidded top are in pewter that has attained a mellow patina leaving the inside of the hinged lid bright. Although unsigned the glass pattern is strongly reminiscent of the Loetz Creta Chine style made during the Art Nouveau period.

This exquisite syrup jug weighs 11 .6 ounces, is 8 inches tall to the top of the lid finial, 1 ¾ inches in diameter at the mouth and 3 inches in diameter at the base. This beautiful piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The base displays a smooth pontil slightly polished.
