Majolica Begonia Pattern Plate – Late 1800’s

This is a lovely and unique antique, majolica plate made during the late 1800's in gorgeous rose, yellow, green, reddish-brown colored glaze and molded in the charming form of a begonia leaf. This exquisite begonia leaf plate is ready to whimsically serve in the best Victorian tradition of practicality and beauty.

This wonderful majolica begonia leaf plate weighs 1 pound 1.2 ounces, is 10 inches long by 7 ½ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches tall. The bottom of the plate is also glazed in rich, vibrant yellow and what looks to be an artist's on the bottom hand painted under glaze. This gorgeous plate is in remarkable condition given its age with just two spots of expected roughness just along the rim, one spot of missing glaze from manufacture on the base and two very faint hair lines under glaze also on the base.

Thank you for your interest in this fabulous antique majolica begonia pattern plate and please feel free to browse our Ruby Lane exclusive shop, Little River Antiques & Collectibles, for other unique and exciting treasures.
