Here is this very old and unique old copper tea kettle for your consideration. It is oval in shape and has been hand wrought, just look at the primitive details! The goose-neck spout is just fantastic in length and shape! The side and bottom seams are all dovetailed (see pics). The connecting pieces to the handle as well as the outside rim of the kettle mouth looks to be brass and on the top of the handle is a makers mark see pic, Possibly the knob is brass as well. The rivets however are copper. The inside looks to be tin lined. There are two small holes on the handle underneath that were purposely put there by the maker (possibly for heat transfer).
This tea kettle measures 9 3/4 inches long from the end of the spout to the back side and is 5 1/2 inches wide at the base. It stands 8 3/4 inches high.
The condition of this piece is very good! There is only minimal wear that is consistent with age and use. It has lots of patina and we have chosen not to clean this piece.
This is a "must have" for your copper collection...it really is a nice old tea kettle!!!
Thanks for your consideration!
