Magnificent French Hand Painted Fan with Wedding Scene
We have offered here a magnificent French Hand Painted Fan with a Wedding Scene. This one has the Wedding scene with many individuals gathered around a table and signing documents, while a second party appears to be waiting off to one side. The reverse of the Fan shows a small Chapel in the country. It has wonderful carved Bone Stays which have a pattern that has been highlighted with color. The fan is 17 1/2" across when opened, and 9 1/2" high. One of the Bone stays has been repaired, but only noticed with close inspection. This one is a truly stunning example of these early French Hand Painted Fans.
