We have offered here an awesome Original Oil Painting by listed California Artist "Margaret Morrish" (1893-1975). Mrs. Morrish was married in Colorado, and when her husband died, moved to California. She is a self taught artist, and used her many world travels as inspiration for her paintings, of which most are landscapes.
This one is a large landscape with a copse of trees next to a stream or river with a fallen log. This one is done on a masonite panel and is 48" by 36" in size and show fabulous texture to the paint. It is signed in the lower right and dated 1972. It comes with a gold and linen frame, and is in excellent condition.
An excellent artist who had three solo shows in the Tower Gallery of the Los Angeles City Hall. Her work was never marketed much, but those who own her works seldom sell or release them. This one comes from her Granddaughter, who with limited space, would rather find them being enjoyed, as opposed to being left in storage. A good opportunity to own an Original Painting by a good California Artist.
