I love McCoy pottery items as I am from the era in which this one was produced. McCoy does not command Rookwood prices but they are... lets say "fun". This one is of an old time car. It is a planter. Visions of the real car under shed with a few weeds poking out will give you the right look - only in pottery. The car is painted in a medium but rich brown, trimmed in yellow, and all this has a gloss finish. It is marked USA at the running board.
It is great in condition. There is a small paint skip on one side running board crease and a little crackle beginning on the underside. That is all the bad you can say; rest is in excellent condition. It weighs 3 1/4 pounds - so it is heavy even without dirt so it will serve it original purpose well. Mix it in with some potted plants. It will add lots of interest and you will collect the comments. Measurements are roughly 9 1/2 L x 4 1/2 W x 4 1/2 H.
Great fun for the auto buffs and McCoy collectors!
