Serigraph by artist Igor Medvedev numbered and signed Circa: 2001

This work is called Magenta Splash. It is by California artist Igor Medvedev and is from 2001. The work measures 17" x 12 3/4 ": This is a serigraph in color on canvas. It is signed in ink, numbered on the reverse #309 of 350: 100 artist's proofs on canvas, 92 printer's proofs on canvas, and 3 bon a tirer impressions on canvas also exist. There is an edition on paper of 1456 that also exists. This serigraph is referred to on page 60 of "The Serigraphs of Igor Medvedev," published in 2002 by Park West Gallery of Southfield, MI.

Framed size is 21w x 25 1/4. There is an appraisal that comes with the work from Park West Gallery valuing the work complete with frame at $850 replacement price. The date of the appraisal is 1/24/2007.

The artist was born in 1931 and has a wide reputation for strong, clean graphic forms and dramatic use of light and shadow in documenting the villages of the Mediterranean which are rapidly disappearing to development. He is particularly recognized for the quality of original serigraphs.
