Gorham: Collector Plate: All-American Rose

The American Rose Society worked with Gorham to issue these stunning collector plates featuring award winning roses. According to my research there are 33 plates in the series beginning in 1975 and ending 1986. Three plates were issued yearly for a Hybrid Tea, Floribunda and Grandiflora rose in limited editions of 9800 each. The designs are from renown artist and rosarian Luther Bookout's original paintings. Each plate is signed and has a 24 karat gold rim. The porcelain is off-white: Made in USA. I measure 10 1/2 inches in diameter; literature calls the plate 11 inches.

This plate is of Charisma, a floribunda. It was issued in 1978 and is numbered 4033. I believe it to be the 11th issue in the series. It is mint in condition, comes in its original styrofoam packing box, but has no papers. I believe certificates were not issued with the series.

An excellent gift for the gardener and for the collector, but consider a collection of these plates for the wall and focal point for room decor. The quality is present to do this.

We are pleased to receive your questions and will do our best with the answers. We invite you to visit Orphaned Treasures and enjoy the other plates of this collection series and our other offerings.
