Gorham: Collector Plate: All-American Rose

The American Rose Society worked with Gorham to issue these stunning collector plates featuring award winning roses. According to my research, there are 33 plates in the series beginning in 1975. Three were issued each year in limited edition of 9800: Hybrid Tea, Floribunda, and Grandiflora. The designs are from renown artist and rosarian Luther Bookout's original paintings. Each plate is signed and features a 24 karat gold rim. The porcelain is off-white: Made in USA. I measure the plate to be 10 3/4 inches in diameter - 11 inches by the literature.

This plate is for Prominent, a Grandiflora. It was issued in 1977 and is the ninth issue: it is numbered 4033. The plate is mint in condition.

A wonderful gift for the rose lover and gardener, for the collector of the series, but the quality of these plates is such that a wall grouping can easily become the starting point for room decor. There is no paperwork with the plate: it is in the original styrofoam box - worthy for storage but I would try something else for a gift.

We shall answer your questions as best we know how. We invite you to visit Orphaned Treasure on Ruby Lane and enjoy the Gorham All-American Rose collection and our other offerings.
