These are beautiful tri-footed shells by Cambridge in the Caprice pattern. They are blue. The Caprice pattern was manufactured between 1936 and 1957.
Measurements are 3 x 3 and approx. 1-1/2 in height. One shell has a small chip to the underside of one foot, otherwise all are excellent in condition. I like them especially when they pick up something blue in china such as blue flowers.
Use of these are only limited by the imagination. I believe Cambridge originally sold them as ashtrays, but I feel they are rather small for that. I see them as individual holders of chocolates at the holiday table, or nuts, salt, lemon slices at an elegant table.
The price is for each the six.
