ANTIQUE VICTORIAN Lava Cameo Pin/Brooch - Lovely Lady Facing Left!

AGE: C.1890 or so

ITEM: An oval cameo pin in a gold vermeil (gold wash) setting with a nicely carved cameo of a lady facing left carved from a light golden brown piece of hardened lava.

CONDITION: Very nice with no problems I can spot - no chipped nose, no flea bites. A safety catch has been added to the back at a later date. Evidence of lead solder is apparent which means it is an early repair.

METAL CONTENT: Setting appears to be silver gilt (gold wash over silver) though the setting may just be gilt over brass (hard to tell).

HALLMARKS: None that I can spot.

SIZE: 1" x 1-3/16"
