ANTIQUE VICTORIAN Salmon Coral Necklace - Graduated Beads!

AGE: C.1880 or so

ITEM: A graduated salmon coral bead necklace from the Victorian era. With a simple spring clasp at the back, the beads are uneven and not entirely round in places, indication of an old time and not modern manufacture.

CONDITION: Very nice. Striations and pitting are visible in the beads. A restringing is definitely in order at some time in the future. Oh, and the craftsman who fashioned this necklace knotted the last 5 beads of the necklace so it isn't going to fall apart too soon.

METAL CONTENT: Most likely a gold filled clasp.

HALLMARKS: None.

SIZE: Length of the necklace is 18-1/2".

Coral beads measure 3mm to 6mm.

WEIGHT: 9.9 grams

FINAL COMMENTS: I remember when you could find coral necklaces everywhere. Not anymore.
