Japanese Oni Holding a Bird - Figural Match Safe Vesta Case – Circa 1890
Antique copper Japanese figural match safe, vesta case. The Oni is kneeling and he is holding a bird in one hand.
Nice tight snap shut hinge. These are usually wobbly but this is nice and steady. Top fits very well. Good sharp detail. Integral Striker on the bottom with just a tiny old hole, pictured.
