Large Dore Bronze Poodle with Cigar – Inkwell – C 1890

A finely detailed figure of a dog he is sitting on his hind legs with his two paws held up in front of his chest. He has a cigar in his mouth and he appears to have a moustache and beard. He has an adorable face, with the original glass eyes, and you can almost see every hair on this amusing Dore Bronze Dog. I think he is a poodle.

His head is hinged and there is a shallow metal well. He is probably an inkwell.

A good heavy bronze casting with a nice heavy gilded finish. The hinge is in fine condition. There are two holes in the base he could be attached to a base if you wish.

He is quite large, standing approximately 7" tall and measures 3 ½" x 2". Vienna, circa 1890.
