Battersea Bilston C 1780 Enamel – Girl with Bird Cage - Patch Box

A lady stands at the shore with her arm outstretched holding a birdcage. Probably a symbol of a love who has gone far away. This is the age of the long sea voyages.

Nice bright colors edged in cobalt blue. The base is Cobalt Blue

The hinge is good and fits nice and tight, with a nice old patina. There has been some professional restoration so I have priced this accordingly.

This Patch Box is English, enamel on copper. Circa 1780.

Measures approximately 1 ¾" x 1 ½" x 7/8" tall.

Item ID: bb-gge
