This Beautiful Vintage Hair Comb is made by The Fishel Company . Begun in 1885 on Fifth Avenue , New York City by Carl Fishel and Nessler, when they began producing a variety of silver plated jewelry items . ....... They are best known however for Art Deco pieces , made in the 1920's and 30's, when the company began to manufacture higher end items of Sterling Silver, set with various simulated stones, high quality rhinestones, and Austrian crystals. ......This fantastic Hair Comb is one of those pieces ..... Art Deco , made of Sterling Silver, with a gold wash and Austrian Crystals , attached to a Faux Tortoise Celluloid Hair Comb , curved in shape, also marked with the company's trademark logo used at the time, the outline of a fish with the word STERLING inside, and the letter L next to it. ......

Exquisite in every way , and encrusted with numerous white crystals , each one hand bead set , in a closed backed, openwork motif of flowers and red eyed birds, each side , a mirror image of the other ........In excellent vintage condition and all original, ( the comb itself is slightly "off" its curve , as seen in picture #1 ).....The Fishel Company ceased operation in 1937, .... their pieces are rare and not easy to find ! .....
