Exquisite in both design and materials, this important English locket is unmarked and acid tests between 15-18K . Rich yellow gold in color and set with ten natural pearls, and eight , turquoise stones. All a true turquoise blue in color and very well matched. Typical of the finest work done in England during the Victorian Period, this locket dates from around 1870. Nice scale , oval in shape and " puffed" , with a pretty hand chased , all over pattern design on the reverse side.
All original , including the large bail , which will accommodate a ribbon as shown or chain of your choice. Free of dents with only a minor issue to note; one pearl has darkened slightly with age, really insignificant to the overall look, and the inside no longer retains its bezel. Otherwise , as lovely and as perfect as can be.
