Jazzy 1920's voided silk velvet dress fashioned from two vivid Art Deco patterned textiles, one featuring randomly shaped cells isolating striking rows of dramatic spikes and the other with a smaller-scale pattern of jagged triangles arranged in a pattern strongly reminiscent of leaded glass. Both inky velvets have a very dense nap that's smooth and buttery and imparts an elegant drape to the dress, and there are two flirty flounces at each gathered shoulder. Bold and conspicuous as photographed with no undergarment, a little color in the choice of slip or underdress would exaggerate the already strong and outstanding patterns and add another showy dimension to the dynamic presentation. In excellent uncleaned vintage condition, very strong and wearable with one pinhole and a few small, innocuous repairs to the underside of one sleeve, the dress has no closures, slips easily on over the head and measures an unexpanded 44-inches long with a 38 bust, waist and hip.
