Opulent 1920's Art Deco reversible gold lame / lamé shawl with an exuberant abstract pattern in glittering gold on a gauzy black ground, a double checkerboard border and 11-inches of silk fringe on all sides. The reversible damask weave allows the wearer to choose between a flamboyant display of abstract gold shapes with gold checkerboard borders, or a more subtle presentation with the pattern and checkerboard squares a diaphanous black outlined in gold. A great, hard-to-find accessory that may be suitably used to complement 1920's Flapper Era dresses and the bias-cut evening gowns and other dresses of the 1930's, this luscious Art Deco Period shawl is in very good uncleaned vintage condition, very strong and ready to wear with some small areas of tarnish, measures approximately 57 x 59-inches including the fringe.
