Gossamer 1920's flesh-tone silk chiffon crepe and lace dress in the style of Vionnet features a flouncy ten-panel bias-cut skirt, an elegant asymmetrical hemline and two bell sleeves that are open in back and close with romantic streamer-ties. The rose-patterned machine laces have a great array of decorative patterns in the fillings and ground with a well-chosen ecru color that enhances the nude illusion of the tissue-fine silk chiffon, and the skirt is ingenuously constructed with four bias-cut panels that wrap the low waist and hip as they travel from front-to-back hemline and two flowing side panels. This stylish and very wearable dress is finished with an underdress that is attached on top only, extends to approximately the knee and has an attached designer/seamstress tag at the hemline with faded, illegible numbers. In very good uncleaned vintage condition, the underdress has several small splits and one slightly larger split near the hemline and the dress has a few tiny pinholes, otherwise very strong and ready to wear, slips on over the head and measures an unexpanded 53-inches long with a 36 bust and 28 waist.
