1930's Bias Cut Black Lace Evening Gown & Bolero Jacket

1930's bias-cut black lace evening gown and jacket with a striking sculptural silhouette featuring elegantly tapered sleeves with puff-shoulders and mock notched lapels on the jacket and a sultry sleeveless silhouette with a daring open back, a v-shaped front neckline and an assymetrical hemline that's 2-inches longer in back on the gown. The jacket's sleeves are stiffened with horsehair pads at the shoulders and the dress has a black taffeta underdress/slip, a lace belt that closes with snaps and snap closures on one side and the sleeve ends. The lace is very dramatic and beautiful with a lush, large-scale floral pattern. It's woven in varying densities and thread counts which make it textural and extremely durable, the weight and bias-cut tailoring also providing for a graceful drape. In excellent uncleaned vintage condition, very strong and ready to wear, the dress measures 58-inches long in front and 60-inches long in back with a 36 bust and 30 waist and the jacket measures 15-inches long with 16-inch sleeves and a 36 bust.
