1920's Hand-Beaded Fringed Flapper Choker Necklace

Jazzy 1920's choker necklace constructed on an armature of two wire strands covered with rosy glass beads with graduated, stiff vertical wire strands of the same beads on the sides and larger, faceted amber and ruby red glass beads in front suspending fifteen strands of matching fringe. The bead-covered vertical elements are decorative and also function as spacers to maintain the desired separation of the double armature, and the fringe is a rich combination of gem-tone "stones" and burnished gold-tone chain. These Art Deco Era chokers, unlike the long, flat-beaded flapper necklaces, are scarce accessories from the flapper trousseau. They add an exotic dimension to Roaring 20's gowns and dresses that is well-suited to the more extravagant and imaginative examples of the genre. There are two red glass drops at the tips in back and the necklace is in excellent vintage condition, measures 13-inches end-to-end and 1/2-inch wide in front with the longest strand of fringe measuring 1 1/2-inches long.
