Saucy 1970's Yves St. Laurent Rive Gauche peasant dress in rustly cardinal red taffeta shot with gold threads and strewn with black polka dots. Apparently the 1970's view of what a peasant woman wore had lots to do with ruffles. This lively dress has a deeply scooped front neckline, a very full, pleated skirt with slash pockets hidden in the folds, a side zipper, a red bodice lining and ruffles at the neck, sleeve-ends and hemline, the latter with a stiff band stitched into the hem to hold the skirt's silhouette securely in place. There is a separate same-fabric belt/sash, a 1970's St. Laurent "Rive Gauche" label and the dress is in excellent uncleaned vintage condition, ready to wear, measures 38 1/2-inches long with a 36 bust, 28 waist, 36 hip and 14-inch sleeves.
