Early 1960's Pucci Silk Jersey Mini Dress With Cord Belt

Early 1960's Emilio Pucci silk jersey mini dress with same-fabric cord belt and Lord & Taylor retailer's label. This dress has a vivid color palette and a bold geometric pattern straight from the early 1960's - bold and flamboyant at the time but only a transitional foreshadowing of the hotter and brighter psychedelic colors and prints of the later 1960's and 70's. Pucci was the undisputed master of combining disparate, often cacophonous design elements into a cohesive and beautiful garment. This early example uses severe angles and sea-and-sky colors in a strikingly rhythmic pattern that reads dramatically in all dimensions. The original cord belt is included with the dress and there are early 1960's, "Pucci Florence Italy" and "Made In Italy For Lord & Taylor" labels. In very good vintage condition with two very pale, difficult to find spots, a few tiny pulls in the jersey and three pinholes, measures an unexpanded 35-inches long with a 36 bust, 32 waist, 15 sleeve and 42-inches around the hemline.
