Smart Ceil Chapman 1950's Navy Slubbed Silk Day Dress

1950's Ceil Chapman day dress features a smartly tailored silhouette with a whimsical military influence in the stylish, layered variation on a sailor collar, the trim, double-breasted bodice and deep navy blue slubbed silk. The fitted bodice and square front neckline are nicely balanced in the silhouette by the draped pockets, the latter ingenuously incorporated into the dress via a series of darts. The collar's layers are each constructed from two pieces of fine white chiffon and the dress has elbow sleeves and a rear zipper closure. In excellent vintage condition, measures an unexpanded 41-inches long with a 38 bust, 30 waist, 38 hip and 17 1/2-inch sleeves measured from the shoulder.
