Pretty 1890's two-piece dress with a cut velvet bodice trimmed in lace and beadwork and a floral silk damask skirt with floral lace appliques. The boned bodice is made from multiple pieces of the dusty rose and gray/blue cut silk velvet and has beautiful lace trims, bands of beadwork and black silk velvet at the stand-up collar, more black velvet encircling the waist and ruffled cuffs. Many of the interior stays have separate, tape-bound sections of the cut velvet between them and the black polished cotton lining and the bodice closes with hooks-and-eyes. The skirt has a lovely stylized floral damask pattern with the applied rose and scroll lace encircling it at the hip and a band of black silk that matches the bodice sleeves adding drape and strength to the inner hemline. In very good uncleaned antique condition, strong and wearable with a few breaks in the lace decorating the front, the velvet belt is missing its closure (probably a hook-and-eye) and the skirt has remnants of a lining. The bodice measures 16-inches long with a 32 bust, 24 waist and 10 1/2-inches between the shoulders and the skirt measures 45-inches long with a 26 waist. The outfit assembled measures 60-inches long.
