Two Hand Painted Circa 1920 Pillow Faces / Cushion Covers

Two very beautifully hand-painted pillow covers, one with a peacock on a flowering branch and the other a cluster of water lilies in pink, lavender and yellow flanked by pairs of cattails. These pillow covers date to circa 1910-1920, with the naturalistic depiction and pretty colors of the water lilies pointing back to the Edwardian and the subtle stylization, dramatic presentation and bold jewel-tones of the peacock pointing ahead to the Art Deco. From a fine Maine estate, both covers are in excellent vintage condition with a scattering of very light spotting on the back, some very minor paint loss and only one has a tassel, measure 16 1/2 x 17 1/2-inches each.
