Rare 1920's Noemi Lemoine French Horsehair Cloche Hat After Reboux

Rare 1920's French horsehair cloche by Noemi Lemoine with a secondary label reading "genre C. Reboux," or "style C. Reboux". Noemi Lemoine was one of the "Little Milliners" of Paris, while Caroline Reboux has been called "Queen Of The Milliners" and is widely credited, though arguably, with introducing the cloche form in 1907/1908. This wonderful example of Art Deco period French millinery work features a nicely woven horsehair body expertly and artfully gathered and pleated into an elegant bell-shape with layered, tricorn style flaps over the ears. There is a wide silk-satin ribbon that encircles the brim ending in a bow at one side, a "Noemi Lemoine, 92 Rue de Richelieu, Paris, Made In France" label attached to the crown and the purple silk label reading "genre C. Reboux". In excellent vintage condition with a small split in the silk ribbon where it is sewn into a pleat and the Reboux label is split and attached at three remaining points, measures 21-inches inside circumference, 6 1/2-inches tall and 10 1/2-inches front-to-back.
