1950s Vintage Whimsical Hat Wine Red Velvet
A unique hat with lots of character! This wine red velvet (hatter's plush) beauty is adorned with a large rose on the back created with several folds of velvet to form the petals. The extra sweet touch is a velvet wrapped wired spiral at the top. The lining is black and gold fine net over what appears to be cream satin and the headband is green grosgrain. The hat was entirely hand done. Many thanks to the VFG for help in dating this piece.

Condition is very good with a small spot of velvet loss on the mid-left seen in last photo where the color has been lightened for better viewing. The crown is slightly misshapen but this wouldn't be noticeable when worn. I found a few small breaks on the delicate net lining. The velvet looks and feels wonderful and the color is vibrant.
Measurements: Inner Circumference: 21 1/4" - Height: 5 1/2" on front and 4 1/4" on back - Flower: 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" including rope accent
