Limoges Pink & Gold Chocolate Set with White Flowers

I have for your consideration a wonderful Limoges chocolate set. The fabulous pot is unmarked by definitely a Limoges blank and painted by the same talented artist who created the matching cups, saucers, and small tid bid plate. The cups and saucers bear the Laviolette mark (1896-1905) and the tid bit plate bears the Jean Pouyat mark 5 (circa 1890).

The pot stands 9.5" tall and is simply amazing. The bulbous bottom is of rococo style with fabulous pink raised swirls embellished with heavy gold gild. Moving up the pot, the artist has hand painted raised white dainty flowers surrounded by greenery. The background is tinged a pale pink and sky blue. This floral delight and mingling of blue and pink encircle the pot so that it is a stunning sight no matter what angle it is viewed. The spout is trimmed in gold and also has a hint of blue. The top of the handle is blue with gold detailing and fades to pink. A single sprig of leaves appear on the handle. The lid is the crowning glory and brilliantly bring the rococo style up to eye level. The lid is edged in pink with a splash of blue and the artist has again repeated the floral pattern of white flowers and greenery. The ornate blue and gold finial sits atop a raised mound of blue and gold swirls.

The delicate and lovely matching cups stand 3" high, the saucers are 5" in diameter, and the tid bit plate measures 7.75" across. The cups have a white base with blue tinged on the upper part of the front of the cup. Against this the artist has painted more white flowers with green leaves spilling down the front. The handles and rims are gold. The dainty saucers have a raised pattern around the edge and also the middle where the cup sits. The edges are trimmed in gold and the artist has added the floral design against a burst of pink color. The final piece, the tid bid tray, also has a scalloped border trimmed in gold. It has the same white delicate flowers against blues and pinks, with added gold detailing around the rim.

The set is in absolutely great condition. Except for extremely minor gold wear, the set is about as good as it gets! There is no paint loss, no cracks, chips, spiders, flakes, chips, flicks or hairlines.

This Limoges chocolate set is unique and exquisite. It belongs front and center in a collection of chocolate pots or other hand painted treasures.
