Wonderful Pickard Plate wih Raspberries Signed Kiefus
I have for your consideration a lovely plate bearing Pickard mark 4 (circa 1903-1905). The plate is signed by the well-known listed Pickard artist, Jacob Kiefus.
The plate measures 8.25" in diameter. On a background of creamy pale yellow with muted hues of red and purple, Kiefus has hand painted sprigs of red raspberries nestled among wild berry flowers and green leaves. Shadows of the leaves fall across the plate. The rim of the plate is done in heavy gold gild with the edge trimmed in highlighted scroll work.
The plate is in excellent condition with little or no wear to the gold. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, flea bites, hairlines or spiders.
