Limoges Lovely Vase Ruby Red and Pink Roses Gold Scroll Work Accents

I have for your consideration a lovely Limoges vase bearing the Tressemann & Vogt underglaze factory mark 6a (circa 1892).

The vase stands 6" tall and measures 3" across at the mouth opening. Smaller in size than I normally gravitate towards, but I decided to acquire because of it is large in stature because of its warm colors, execution of roses, and delightful raised gold fret work.

The back ground porcelain of the vase is a soft butter cream yellow with wonderful overtones of green. This is more pronounced around the neck area where the green becomes a more intense darker shade where it blends with a rich regal cranberry red around the top inch or so of the top rim. Against this palette the artist has hand painted dramatic ruby red and pink roses that are nestled on a cushion of dainty green and brown foliage with just a hint of blue. A wide band of encrusted gold encircles the mouth opening the bottom edge of which band is ornately scrolled and dips down into the body of the vase forming various intricate designs.

This is just a fine piece of hand painted porcelain in excellent condition. There is no wear to the gold. There is no loss to the painted surface. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines, flakes, flea bites, hairlines or spiders
